  General Rental Conditions
  • All vehicles are hired subject to a standard rental agreement (RA).
  • The driver/lessee must be 23 years or older and have a valid driver's licence as well as a passport.
  • Our rates include: maintenance, General Sales Tax, unlimited mileage and car insurance.
  • Not included in our rates: loss of or damage to tyres including spare tyre, windscreens, lamps, tools and jacks. The lessee is fully responsible and payment in settlement of such losses is to be made upon return of the vehicle.
  • The full rental is payable in advance.
  • We accept VISA and MASTER cards.
  • Fuel is paid by the lessee.
  • Vehicles are handed over with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank.
  • Vehicles may not be taken outside the borders of Namibia without prior written approval of the lessor.
  • Prior arrangements must be made for visits to South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Permits and registration papers for border crossings are to be paid by the lessee. Vehicles may not be taken to Angola and Zambia.
  • All vehicles are comprehensively insured. In the event of damage, the lessee is responsible for payment of an excess amount, which can be reduced by means of an additional premium.("AEDW"-Additional Damage Waiver). Security for the excess is only possible through a credit card.
  • Vehicle insurance does not cover loss of or damage to personal property.
  • V.A.Car Hire does not accept any responsibility for injuries, death or personal loss caused by accidents or vehicle defects.
  • Should an extension of the rental period be required our office must be notified at least 48 hours prior to expiry of the rental agreement.
  • In the event of any booked vehicle not being available, V.A.Car Hire reserves the right to provide a substitute vehicle of the same value. We further reserve the right to change our rates without prior notice.
  • Only Namibian laws are applicable. Jurisdiction is in Windhoek, Namibia.
