| For the past ten years,
Kaokohimba Safaris operates exclusively in the remote Northwest of Namibia, in the
awe-inspiring Kaokoland. Here, in complete wilderness, you are offered an unforgettable
experience. Koos Verwey, a born and bred Namibian who speaks English, German, Afrikaans and some Otjiherero has been living in the Marienfluss for several years and, with time, has become an acknowledged part of the local community. The fact that he is guiding all the tours himself allows clients to directly benefit from his experience, knowledge and authenticity. All the safaris are individual tours accommodating only very small groups (the 'perfect' number seems to be four). This allows to give personal attention to each of the guests, to meet individual requests and to minimize the impact on the visited areas. |

 Marienfluss |
A range of different
programmes is offered, all of them normally starting with a flight from Windhoek into
the magical Marienfluss valley. There are weekend or 3-day, 6-day, 12 day and trekking
tours. |
| There is also the possibility to visit Camp Syncro, the small private safari camp right on
the banks of the Kunene river for overnight stays and day programs. |

| Kaokohimba Safaris has
engaged in a number of ongoing community projects in order to realize the practical
aspects of nature conservation and to combat uncontrolled exploitation of the local
Ovahimba. Accordingly, encounters with the semi nomadic people of the area are determined by respect, not curiosity and sufficient time, not the pressure of a tight schedule. Kaokohimba Safaris offers the opportunity to directly observe the daily activities of the Ovahimba, to feel part of their daily life and to gain insight in their different living conditions. During talks around the campfire you learn about the history of the area, developments and threats affecting the people and the land, about old stories and new dreams . . . |
