Attractions Nakambale Museum and Campsite afford an insight into the Ovambo culture. History comes to life at the old Finnish mission station where you can trace the beginnings and the development of Finnish and Rhenish missionary work as well as that of former Ovamboland. The traditional homestead next-door is also open to visitors. The museum offers a large variety of exhibits, photos and texts. Everything is explained on a guided tour which also includes the old mission church, now a national monument, and the replica of a typical Ndonga homestead. If you want to learn more about everyday life of the Ndonga you can visit one of the inhabited homesteads nearby. You can even spend the night in one of the huts of the Nakambale homestead. Alternatively, the campsite next to the homestead offers five brand-new tents, including beds and bedding. The campsite has an ablution block with showers and toilets. For cooking and washing up a kitchen is available. By prior arrangement you can have a traditional meal served to you and, if you wish, traditional music will be played.
