 Northwest (Kunene): Kunene Village Restcamp

Kaokoveld in the far north-western reaches of Namibia is a vast, harsh and starkly beautiful land with considerable distances between the villages. All the more reason for travellers to appreciate places which invite them to stop and relax – like the restcamp on the outskirts of Opuwo...

Attractions
Opuwo, the administrative centre of the Kunene Region, is the gate way to the region's northernmost parts and to the Himba people. Ideally located just outside Opuwo, Kunene Village Restcamp is a perfect place from which to explore the remote northwest of Namibia.

Activities include a variety of hiking trails in the surrounding hills and birdwatching.

The restcamp offers several grassy campsites (for 2-4 tents each) with braai area, shade structures, water and electricity. The ablution block is equipped with flush toilets and showers. There are also two chalets, built from local stone, with two beds each (bedding is not provided). The bar, which overlooks the campsite and surrounding hills, is stocked with soft drinks and beer (meals on request).
